The Beat Suite' is an intimate 1 day meeting with esteemed industry guests in various fields within the music industry. 'The Beat Suite' will cover the fundamentals on all aspects of  #music #production from #management #A&R #Creative #Legal #Licensing #Sampling.  Tastemakers in each field will do 1 hour Q&A's with a moderator and the registrants of that specific topic oriented segment. 

Seats are ONLY $99 for the day and include #breakfast, #lunch, a 1 on 1 #beat #critique with a #panelist as well as  priceless #networking with #industry #tastemakers and like minded individuals. There will also be a #beatcrawl over a @EffenVodka Cocktail (21 and over) where all attendees will play & listen to each others music.

We will be discussing the actual duties of a publisher, why someone would want to sign a pub deal, the different types of deals available and much more. Today is all about getting to the money, so be ready to learn!

1200PM- 'Managing a producer/writer in a pub deal' w/ J Hatch

In this segment we will focus on how the publishing deal process works and your obligations to your publisher from a song quote [mdrc], recoupment on your advances and how to fulfill your requirements. 

100PM- VIP Luncheon & 'Beat Critiques' w/ Bkorn Music [Producer for Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Big Sean] & DJ Nastee [Producer/ Mix Engineer for Joey Badass, Mobb Deep & More]

During lunch, All attendees will receive a beat critique [1 track or song/90 second snippet and feedback] so bring a USB. Beat critiques are random, not with both. 

200PM- 'Surviving a Publishing Deal' w/ Tony Dofat [Multi-Platinum Producer/ Engineer/Composer/Author/Educator]

For this hour we will have an open conversation about being in a publishing deal, and everything that comes along with it. The money, the requirements, the quotas and the reality of why you should or shouldn't purse a publishing deal.

300PM- 'Publishing Agreements Deal Points' w/ Bob Celestin [Rac Law Firm]

From a legal perspective we will discuss different types of agreements, the deal points involved, the pro's & cons of which companies to approach and to ultimately make a decision that can change your life for the better or worse.
