In partnership with Sendero Music in Matanzas, Music Works won Cuba’s prestigious national Cubadisco award for the release of Ilú Keké: Transmisión en la Erita Meta.

The project is the historic recorded account of one of the oldest sets of Cuban Bata drums and the Yoruba descendants & culture surrounding it. The recording project was produced as a result of research conducted by distinguished U.K. based ethnomusicologist Dr. Amanda Villepastour.
